With an increasing number of plant breeders and enthusiasts entrusting their plants to Ross and Lorraine at Growell Plants, we are privileged to represent a diverse range of plants from natives to exotics, hardy ornamentals and climbers.
Our Breeders come from all over New Zealand and many of them are smaller plant enthusiasts who have discovered something special but had no idea what step to take next to get their plants out onto the world stage.
One such breeder is Robyn Mitchell, a Clematis lover and arguably the most prolific breeder of Clematis “Montana’s” in the world today. Robyn who is his 80’s now has worked with Ross for many years through Bayliss Nurseries and is constantly amazed at the results he is getting through Ross and Growell. The regular royalty cheques are an added bonus to their still hectic (retirement years) lifestyle.
